Beautiful art without sight

5/11/08

John Bramblitt is a student at the University of North Texas. Several years ago, Bramblitt lost his sight to epilepsy.

He was inspired by something his mother used to do. He remembered how calm she was when she painted.

Bramblitt starts with a blank canvass and image in his mind. He then outlines his painting with fabric paint. This paint leaves a raised outline he can feel.

He then feels his way through the painting, filling in areas with color. He can actually tell which color he uses by its texture and weight. His paintings are amazing!
