Music Idol is the Bulgarian version of American Idol (which is a spin-off of Britain’s Pop Idol). Just like other Idol shows, Music Idol’s auditions offer up comic gold. Valentina Hasan’s audition performance has become a fan favorite. She sang a passionate version of Ken Lee.

What? You never heard of the song Ken Lee? That’s because she was trying to sing Mariah Carey’s Without You. Hasan does not know English. She learned the song by ear. Her version is barely recognizable. And the judges couldn’t keep a straight face.

Needless to say, Hasan did not make it to the show. But this video of her audition became wildly popular on YouTube.

Hasan was invited back to Music Idol as a guest singer. She performed her now-famous Ken Lee. She received a standing ovation.
