Honda’s ASIMO is probably the world’s most famous robot. It’s a humanoid that can walk and run on two legs. That’s pretty impressive. But for a recent charity event, ASIMO picked up a new talent. It conducted a full symphony orchestra.

Public schools in Detroit have been drastically cutting music programs. Many students never get the opportunity to learn an instrument in school. So, Honda teamed up with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Honda donated $1 million to create the Power of Dreams Music Education Fund.

ASIMO performed to encourage support for the program. You’ll see it conduct a short piece called Impossible Dream. This was the opening act for world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
