Windows Vista has gotten a lot of criticism. In fact, some people flat out hate it. Microsoft is not officially criticizing its own product. But it’s working on its next operating system, Windows 7.

Windows 7 should hit stores in late 2009 or early 2010. Beyond that, not a lot is known about the new OS. However, at a recent conference, one of its features was demonstrated. Windows 7 will sport touch-screen capabilities. And more than that, it will be multi-touch capable.

This looks like a scaled down version of Microsoft Surface. The applications shown are exciting. Sadly, they’re just for demonstration purposes.

If you don’t hear any sound, don’t worry. Most of this video is silent. There is a demo of a virtual piano at 1:47. It’s the only section with sound.
