This Video of the Day is an amazing audio-editing program. I discussed it recently on the show. I’ve since received a lot of e-mail asking about it. So, I found a video that shows how it works.

Melodyne audio-editing software has been around for a while. But a new feature makes it stand out. It’s called Direct Note Access. It can break apart complex audio like guitar chords or vocal harmonies. You can see and manipulate individual notes, and remix the audio.

Before Direct Note Access, manipulating notes in chords and harmonies was impossible. This is incredibly powerful audio-editing software. It makes the music snob in me cringe. With Melodyne, do you even need skill to be a musician? But the geek in me wants to get my hands on it. It might even make my singing sound good!
