Beating chess masters
8/5/08This Video of the Day features an amazing feat. Derren Brown plays nine of the world’s top chess players. But he doesn’t play them one by one. He plays all nine simultaneously. And he leaves with a winning record.
Brown takes on the best players in Britain. These players are ranked by the World Chess Federation, chess’ governing body. The nine include masters, international masters and four grandmasters. Grandmaster is the highest rank attainable by a chess player.
Brown is not a professional chess player. Brown is actually a world-renowned illusionist and mental manipulator. He’s able to produce a jaw-dropping result. And he’ll show you exactly how he did it! This is nothing if not clever.
