Every pet owner knows animals have personality. Some are cooler than others. Well, Patches the horse was one cool dude. You’ll meet him in this Video of the Day.

Patches was born in northern Florida to owner Herbert Thompson. This horse wasn’t satisfied spending the day in the stable. He acts more like a person than a horse. Patches rides to town in a convertible. He likes to lounge on the couch watching Westerns. And he sleeps in his own bed.

Patches passed away in 2006. Before his death, Patches sired a son. Thomson named him Chip. As son of Patches, Chip is already a local celebrity. He’s a regular feature in northern Florida parades.
