One man has the most recognizable voice in the world. Hollywood movies and television wouldn’t be the same without him. Yet, you probably couldn’t point him out in a lineup. This Video of the Day features that movie preview voice-over guy.

His name is Don LaFontaine. He was born with a voice like no other. Voice acting wasn’t his first career. He started as a producer for movie promos. While working on a 1964 western, the professional voice actor was unavailable. LaFontaine filled in. He was a hit.

You probably hear his voice every time you go to the movies. He’s done the voice-over for more than 5,000 trailers. You can also hear him in more than 750,000 television spots. In the video, LaFontaine and his friends tell his story.
