This YouTube video will make you think about what you throw away. Dr. Marcus Eriksen is concerned about the state of our oceans. As it turns out, there is a lot of garbage out there. And it’s mostly plastic.

To raise awareness, Eriksen and his team built Junk. It’s a raft built entirely out of its namesake. It floats on pontoons made from 15,000 plastic bottles. The deck is made of sailboat masts. And the cabin is a junked Cessna fuselage.

He sailed the Junk from California to Hawaii. In this video he relates his journey to Martha Stewart. And he has some advice for keeping the oceans clean.
