There are few things cooler than being a fighter pilot. Just playing one launched Tom Cruise’s career. But becoming a real fighter pilot is serious work. So, what’s it like?

The most famous fighter pilot training program is Top Gun. It’s an intensive school for Navy pilots. The Air Force has its own program, called Red Flag.

This film follows a trainee through Red Flag. Participants learn through massive war games. They practice with live ammunition. And they fly with groups of dozens of aircraft. This movie was originally made for IMAX. So, it features some really cool footage.
