The small, guitar-like instrument is usually associated with Hawaiian culture. But it’s often used for comic effect by Hollywood. Shimabukuro hopes to shed those associations. He believes the ukulele is capable of so much more.

Two years ago, I saw Shimabukuro live in Maui, Hawaii. He was playing in a shopping mall. And he blew me away. He now tours the world with his ukulele. I was excited to find some of his videos on YouTube. You’re going to love them.
