In 1949, Mao Zedong made a proclamation in Tiananmen Square. The People’s Republic of China was born. That location has been a hot bed of Chinese politics. It’s been used for government celebrations and citizen protests. And the two have clashed on more than one occasion.

This year marked the 60th anniversary of the PRC. A grand parade was held in Tiananmen Square. It featured 10,000 soldiers followed by 10,000 citizens. It was a beautiful display that relatively few got to see. But one journalist captured it in high definition.
